News: August 2008
August was
a successful month for all the horses, Unimo started
off by winning a 1.10m class at Gracelands on the 3rd,
and also got placed at Bicton in Devon a few days later.
Charlotte and Hottie won and came 2nd in a class n the
first day of Bicton, and then the reins were handed
over to younger sister Annabel, who also came 2nd in
a class. Charlotte and Whisper jumped clears every day,
qualfiying for the Young Horse Championship. Whisper
jumped another clear in the 5 year old section of the
final but missed out on contesting the jumpoff due to
time faults.
The Scope/BSJA
Festival was the next outing, proving equally successful.
Hottie and Charlotte came 3rd out of well over 100 in
the 1.15m Prelim round on the first day, while Whisper
jumped double clear and placed (43rd and 4th in the
rwo prelims) every day in the Katherine James 1m Novice,
finishing 8th in the final in the main indoor arena.
We were very impressed with how she coped with the atmosphere,
as the final was the last class with quite a few people
watching.
Hottie and
Whisper are now resting in the field for most of September,
whilst the other two geldings, Uno and Alfie, have been
bought back into work and will be starting to compete
again soon.
